Project description:
Layerwood Production OÜ is developing a state-of-the-art glulam (glued laminated timber) production facility in Ida-Virumaa, Estonia. The project aims to create a modern, sustainable, and high-value wood processing industry in the region, supporting the green transition and the development of the local economy.
Project objective:
The main objective of the project is to establish one of the leading engineered timber production facilities in the Baltic region, promoting sustainable construction practices, increasing value-added wood processing, and creating new high-quality jobs in Ida-Virumaa.
Expected results:
Upon completion, the factory will produce high-performance structural timber products that reduce the carbon footprint of construction and enhance Estonia’s position in the sustainable building materials market. The project will contribute to regional development, innovation, and environmental sustainability.
Support amount:
The project is supported by the Just Transition Fund (JTF) with a grant of €13 million.
